Week 10 College Baseball Recap
Recap
Another week in the books where ranked teams continue beat each other into the oblivion and we struggle to properly rank them, it’s exactly why we love College Baseball so much.
The hottest team in the country in the Texas A&M Aggies look like the beast has awoken with a series win in Fayetteville against #2 Arkansas, who have now dropped two straight SEC weekends. The series everyone had circled preseason on deck as they’ll head into Austin, appointment TV people.
Auburn who appeared to be entering SEC title conversations finally met their match when they traveled into Austin Texas where the #1 Longhorns would sweep the Tigers. Still a great story but we might be a little too early on them.
Clemson continues to win thanks to their voodoo taking a series of ranked Louisville only dropping Saturday’s game in extra innings. More ACC madness as Boston College stole a series from Wake Forest and Miami extinguished the hottest team in the conference in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Ranked Oregon and UCLA faced off in a fight for the top of the Big 10, the Ducks would come out on top in impressive fashion starting on Friday with a Grayson Grinsell complete game in a 2-1 win, showed all weekend they are the premier program in the conference.
Tennessee continues their struggles as they drop a series to Kentucky at home, their second home SEC series loss in three weeks. On the bright side, you’d rather see the Vols playing their worst baseball now than in June when we get into the postseason tourney.
UC Irvine put together an extremely impressive sweep of the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors as they would shut out the Bows completely on games two and three. The Anteaters appear to be the best Mid Major club in the country as they continue their hunt for the Big West.

Top-25:

Climbing the Ladder
Texas A&M: The Aggies finally break the Top 25 for the first time since week four, with another extremely impressive showing in Fayetteville taking the series against #2 Arkansas. They finally look the part of the team that was the consensus preseason #1, they’ll travel to Austin next week to take on their rival Longhorns.
Oregon: In a Top 15 test against the Bruins of UCLA, the Ducks showed out taking the series on the back of a Grayson Grinsell complete game on Friday night. This may have been the series for the Big 10, and the Ducks look like they just solidified their spot as the best team in the conference.
Vanderbilt: The Commodores continue to be the most confusing team in the country, taking yet another series from a ranked opponent sweeping the Georgia Bulldogs in Nashville. If there’s one thing I know about the Vandy Boys, they’re one of the best teams at home.
Slump Alert
Georgia: After a huge series win against Arkansas in Athens, the Bulldogs struggled mightily against Vanderbilt, getting clean swept in Nashville. When their offense showed up, the pitching didn’t, and vice versa.
Auburn: The Auburn Tigers were riding hot heading into Austin to take on the #1 Longhorns, where they would be swept and handled. To me, it showed that Auburn is extremely competitive but not quite at Championship Contender status yet,
UCLA: The Bruins have been a topic of discussion because while they continue to win, they truly haven’t looked dominant yet. Finally they draw a ranked matchup in the Oregon Ducks where they would drop their series in Eugene. I still have a lot of faith in this squad and will be a very feisty two seed but I believe their dreams of hosting may have just been crushed.
